My story at LEONI

My name is Julian and I have been working for LEONI in Roth since the start of my apprenticeship to qualify as an industrial mechanic in September 2019. I found my way to LEONI because of my brother who began his apprenticeship here one year before me.

My career journey began in the teaching workshop where we completed the basic course on metals. We thereafter passed through various departments in maintenance, which gave me comprehensive insight into the operational processes. Having successfully completed my apprenticeship, I found my present job as an industrial mechanic in the Projects team where we work together on realizing various projects with our machinery.

This is my job

I am currently responsible for leading machine projects as part of the rebuilding and modification work connected with the company's relocation. In addition, I occasionally carry out repair and maintenance work on machines.

What I find especially appealing about my job is the opportunity to both achieve outstanding results independently and to successfully master projects within my team. The variety of tasks enables me to continually face new challenges, which makes my everyday working life exceptionally wide-ranging.

My daily routine

Start of the day

I start my day by reporting my working hours of the previous day.

Morning

In the mornings, I inspect the current project and then start my work.

Lunch break

During my lunch break, I meet with my colleagues in our snack room and might play a round of cards with them.

Afternoon

After lunch I return to work and devote myself to various projects.

Evening

After finishing work, I take my time to properly tidy up and store the tools used. Doing so helps not only to maintain an orderly workplace but also facilitates a smooth start to the next working day. Once the tools have found their established place, I head home and finish the working day.

My highlight

Successfully completing my apprenticeship was a very special milestone in my life. This moment marked not only the end of an intensive learning chapter, but also the start of my career.

One of the most challenging stages in my career was doubtless the relocation of plant and equipment from our old location to the new one. This task required not just professional expertise but also teamwork, planning, and perseverance. Despite the complexity of this challenge, I gained valuable experience from it that has made a lasting impact on my career development.

My view of LEONI as an employer

My perspective on LEONI as an employer is an exceptionally favorable one. The good work environment that prevails here contributes a lot to my satisfaction. The option of flextime lets me shape my working day independently, which not only improves my work/life balance but also raises my productivity. The way staff are valued with good pay shows me that LEONI rewards the performance of its employees and is committed to their wellbeing.

In three words I would describe LEONI as forward-looking, characterized by a good environment and environmentally aware.

What has changed at LEONI in recent years?

Particularly the relocation into our new company HQ has emerged as a significant change at LEONI in Roth in the past few years. This step underscores the company’s ongoing development and creates a modern work environment that promotes efficiency and innovation.
