My story at LEONI

My name is Achim, and I have been working for LEONI in Roth since 2018. My career began here with an apprenticeship to quality as an electronics engineer for operating technology. Having completed my apprenticeship in 2022, I am now working in electrical maintenance at our facility in Roth.

My job

My areas of responsibility include electrical servicing and maintenance of our plant and machinery as well as their repair in the event of faults. I am also responsible for electrical assignments and modifications in the plant.

What I like about my job is that every day brings different tasks and challenges, meaning that my work is never monotonous or boring.

My daily routine

As a maintenance electronics technician, I am responsible for the smooth and fault-free operation of machinery and equipment in our factory.

Start of the day

My day begins with a good breakfast. Thereafter I set off on my short journey to the company. Having arrived at the workshop, I share thoughts and information with colleagues over a cup of coffee.

Morning

Having looked at the schedule and had a brief conversation with my boss, I have an overview of my work ahead. I then work on the first SAP-reported repairs or other assigned work. In between, we take a break with colleagues in the canteen. After a snack I continue my maintenance tasks, assignments, and other work until lunchtime.

Lunch

We meet back at the workshop for lunch. It will already have been decided in the morning whether we go to the works canteen or order something in. During lunch, we chat and, if the weather is good, continue our conversation while taking a short walk along the Main-Donau Canal immediately next to our company site.

Afternoon

If any tasks are still outstanding, I will tackle those now. Sometimes problems are so complex that I must refer to experienced colleagues. Although they usually have a lot do, they are pleased to help, and we can thus track down the sources of even the most difficult problems.

Evening

Depending on when I started and how many tasks I must still finish, I end my day at between 3 and 4 p.m. Thereafter I either head straight for the gym or meet with friends to bring the day to a close.

My highlights

I frequently experience pleasant and interesting moments in my department. Yet the time during my apprenticeship when I had the opportunity to help set up plant in our new factory was especially exciting.

In electrical maintenance, we are presently confronted with the challenge, despite a very tight staffing situation, of completing the relocation to our new factory, executing numerous new projects at the facility, and meanwhile not losing sight of our day-to-day business. However, with such a strong team we are confident that will be able to master these challenges, too.

My view of LEONI as an employer

What marks LEONI out as a special employer to me is that I can repeatedly tackle new challenges with great colleagues. The exceptionally good working conditions and excellent interaction within our team is what I appreciate very much about LEONI.

A good and relaxed atmosphere prevails among all colleagues in production. Within my team itself, I would go as far as saying that interaction is at least as good if not even better.
